Steve Crawford and Spider MacKenzie @ Bernera Community Centre Hall

Bernera Community Centre Hall, Breacleate, Great Bernera, Isle of Lewis

Steve and Spider are delighted to be taking their Edinburgh Festival show "Celticana: Scottish Soul meets Americana Grit " to The Isle of Lewis.

They have only two shows on the Island, this one being at Bernera Community Hall, Breacleate, Great Bernera on Saturday 22nd August 2026.

This will be a very special concert for Spider, whose late father was from Croir, Bernera. Spider wrote the melody “Bernera Blues” after being inspired by his family history, fond memories of the island, and childhood holidays spent there.

The main concert starts at 8pm with doors open at 7.15pm.

Come early though (6pm for 6.15pm) as at 6.15pm Spider will be giving a pre-show entitled “Let’s Talk Harmonica”. Stories, sounds, how to get started, and tips from over 40 years of playing — with Spider MacKenzie, one of only a few UK players endorsed by Hohner — the name behind his sound and the world’s best-known harmonica brand

Steve’s magnetic voice and guitar and Spider’s soulful virtuoso harmonica. Forged through decades of friendship, their sound is weathered, real and deeply moving. From Aberdeen to stages across the UK, Europe and the USA, their effortless chemistry draws audiences in and keeps them there. “I sat spellbound…” (Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Germany). “Raises the bar for everyone.” (Texas Lifestyle Magazine, USA).
